Workshop Description:

At Honey Field, it’s no secret that we loooveee peppers! Join us for this workshop where we take our love for peppers to the next level by building decorative and culinary pepper garlands. We’ll share our organic pepper harvest with you and demonstrate how to build your own pepper garlands for drying and display in your home. Once you start drying your peppers at home, you’ll realize that you can enjoy these tasty treats all through the long winter ahead until next year’s pepper harvest! Dried pepper garlands are a beautiful indoor addition to the kitchen and can even be used as holiday decor or holiday gifts.

Join us for an afternoon at the greenhouses where we will enjoy hot apple cider under the twinkling lights and take in the sights and smells of all the blooming flowers around us. This event is BYOB.

Included Materials: TBD

Takeaways:

You’ll leave this workshop with a beautiful handmade pepper garland to display in your home, or gift to a loved one. You’ll be able to watch the garland slowly dry out and see each pepper bring out its beautiful dark rich tones and aroma. Your dried peppers can be enjoyed in soups, marinades, or turned into pepper powder or dried pepper flakes. The spicy flavor in peppers comes from capsaicin, an oil-based compound that doesn’t evaporate with water– in fact, dried peppers are often tastier and spicier than their fresh counterparts, having a more intense and concentrated flavor. YUM!
