Workshop Description:

Calling all fresh summer salsa lovers! Come build your own custom salsa garden buckets and get ready for delicious harvests all season long! Full of all the delicious ingredients you need to create your own certified organic salsas, these buckets can be customized for your tastes. We’ll assemble bushel barrel sized planters together and discuss how to care for the veggies, how to know when to harvest, and how to keep your veggies producing throughout the season. We’ll also have a sampling of Honey Field Hot Sauces, the perfect spicy kick for your homemade salsas. 

Join us for an afternoon at the greenhouses where we will enjoy Jalapeno Palomo mocktails  under the twinkling lights and take in the sights and smells of all the blooming flowers around us. This event is BYOB.

Included Materials:

  • Select one certified organic tomato start from the varieties grown on the farm (Beefmaster, Better Boy Plus, Big Beef Plus, Celebrity Plus, Indigo Apple, Jet Star, Lemon Boy, Marmalade Skies, Mountain Merit, Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye or Strawberry Fields) or one certified organic tomatillo start

  • Select one 4-pack of certified organic onions from the varieties grown on the farm (Sweet, White, Red, or Yellow)

  • One certified organic jalapeno start (or another medium-hot pepper of your choice from the varieties we grow on the farm (Aji Rico, Purple Jalapeno, Fresno—Flaming Flare, Jalapeno–Jalafuego, Fish, Serrano–Altiplano, Lemon Drop, Bulgarian Carrot, Cayenne—Red Flame, Purple Cayenne, Golden Cayenne, or Thai–Scorpion)

  • One certified organic cilantro start

  • One packet of organic cilantro seeds

  • Bushel basket planter, organic potting soil and drainage material

Takeaways:

You’ll leave this workshop with a giant bushel barrel planter full of delicious certified organic veggie starts perfect for making fresh summer salsas. You’ll know how to care for the plants, as well as when and how to harvest them for the kitchen. YUM!

Food & Beverage:

At this event, we will jalapeno paloma mocktails. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages.

Disclaimer: Our Plant and Sip events are BYOB with guests allowed to bring alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, or hard cider. Guests who choose to bring alcoholic beverages are expected to drink responsibly, contain all alcoholic beverages, and ensure only individuals above the age of 21 are partaking. Guests are required to sign an alcohol disclaimer once on site.

Please note, some events may include attendees under the age of 21, who are strictly prohibited from partaking in any alcoholic beverage. Honey Field will always provide alcohol-free beverages at these events. 

Children & Family Policy:

Youth are welcome to participate in our workshops. Children under the age of 12 years old must be accompanied at all times during a workshop. 

One adult with one child may purchase one joint ticket and complete the project together. If each individual wants their own planter, each individual should purchase a ticket. 

Cancellation Policy:

If you can not attend the class you registered for, you may transfer your reservation to someone else, please provide us with their name and email address. 

If you cancel your reservation for a class at Honey Field Farm

  • With more than 48 hour notice: 90% refund (minus a 10% processing fee)

  • With 48 hour notice or less: No refund

In the event that your class is canceled due to bad weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and issue you a full refund.
